This outstanding, resonant artwork is the first Nolan ever painted of Leda and the Swan. Dated 1945, this truly iconic painting inspired a much loved series, revisited throughout Nolan's career. With an impeccable provenance, it remained in the Private Collection of the Nolan family until it was eventually sold by Lady Mary Nolan some 65 years after it was painted.
